From a luxurious massage, art galleries, bowling, theatre, yoga, hiking, wildlife viewing, and casting a fly, there are a multitude of activities for all of our guests. We recommend staying at least two nights to enjoy all Ennis has to offer. Yellowstone State Park is calling your name as well as the Madison River - which you can walk to on a whim in less than 10 minutes from Red Bear Inn.

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone is the world's FIRST national park! On March 1, 1872, Yellowstone became the first national park for all to enjoy the unique hydrothermal and geologic features. Within Yellowstone's 2.2 million acres, visitors have unparalleled opportunities to observe wildlife in an intact ecosystem, explore geothermal areas that contain about half the world’s active geysers, and view geologic wonders like the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. Gates typically open at 8am and close at 9pm.

Lewis and Clark Caverns

Along with the caves this three thousand plus acre park has many other recreational opportunities. There are two visitor centers, a cafe, gift shop, two picnic areas, and river access to the famed and historic Jefferson River. The Jefferson River offers many opportunities for canoeing and fishing. The park also offers features over ten miles of hiking trails to enjoy the wildlife and beautiful scenery nearby. The state park elevation is forty-three hundred feet and the cavern entrance stands at fifty-three hundred feet.

Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center

A nonprofit wildlife park and education facility located in West Yellowstone, Montana. They are dedicated to helping people understand and connect with the local area and ecosystem. They have live animals, including grizzly bears, grey wolves, and birds of prey. The animals at Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center serve as ambassadors for their wild counterparts to educate visitors and appreciate these animals. The Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center provides an opportunity for people to learn more about these top predators and the important role they play in our wildlife.

Spirit of the North

Spirit of the North is a guided dog sledding trip where you can experience the beauty of these animals and the nearby wilderness. These sled dog adventures highlight these team of Alaskan huskies that are well-trained athletes and love what they do. When you visit the Spirit of the North Sled Dog Adventures be sure to dress warm because it can get cold out there. Trips are about two hours long but sometimes can vary depending upon the weather and trail conditions. Visit their website to set up your reservation to lead this team of dogs.

Madison Meadows Golf Course

Whether you are an experienced golfer or still getting the feel for it, Madison Meadows Golf Course should be in your plans to visit. This course offers practice facilities, lessons, a dedicated driving range, or guests can just enjoy a classic round of golf. Offering options for everyone, with a 9 hole or 18 hole course and daily cart rentals. Come relax and enjoy a sport fit for everyone.

River Studio Ennis

River Studio offers weekly fitness classes of all kinds including yoga, private instruction and workshops to the residents and visitors of the Madison Valley. By integrating body, breath, movement, and meditative awareness, they intend to inspire your personal health and well-being. Every body is welcome.

Montana Healing Arts

With a serene, blissful setting, massage therapists take care of all of their clients' needs. Montana Healing Arts offers different types of massage as well as different session lengths. KT (a therapist there) is trained in massage therapy as well as Reiki healing. Please reward yourself by going for a visit. You can easily walk to Montana Healing Arts from the Red Bear Inn.

Willie's Distillery

Willie’s Distillery is a small batch distillery located in Ennis, Montana, on the banks of the fabled Madison River. Willie's mission is to make World Class Spirits for World Class Individuals. The distillery uses fresh mountain water straight from the source, and grains and ingredients from small Montana farms and growers ranging from a local apiary to the barley fields of the Montana Highline. Each bottle is handled and filled with care. Stop by to taste a specially crafted cocktail. This is truly a local gem and you can find gifts to take back to your friends and family.

Virginia City

Only 18 miles from Ennis, Virginia City is worth a visit. There is no doubt about that. While meandering the historic streets, please be sure to stop into the many boutiques, restaurants, watering holes, and candy shop. There's so much to experience, see, eat and drink. It's also known as a "Living Ghost Town!" We recommend the open-air bus tour of the city that includes a stop on Boot Hill. This is where five rogue road agents were buried by the Vigilantes. Don't forget to check out the walking tour map found on the chamber's website.

Madison Theatre

If you've been hankering for a movie on vacation, or just want to get in out of the sun, head to The Madison Theatre. It is located in downtown Ennis and hosts first run movies. There is a snack bar, popcorn, sodas, and a renovated theater. Enjoy the big screen in Ennis, Montana.

Ennis Fish Bowl

Being in the center of one of the world’s best fly fishing areas, the Ennis Fish Bowl provides an alternative for families and friends to get together to bowl in a retro bowling facility that has been upgraded to the most modern bowling experience. The facility still has real wood lanes, and runs 1963 Brunswick A2 machines while you enjoy absolutely modern scoring and entertainment systems. Six lanes provide you with personal local service, and quality food while you bowl. This business has been a central gathering place for over 55 years!

Norris Hot Springs

Soak and eat in the Water of the Gods, Montana's geothermal wonder. Just a 30 minute drive from Ennis, Montana. The hot spring and garden are on the ancestral land of Salish and Shoshone-Bannock peoples land. Guests can rent the spring privately or go during the public soaking hours. The spring is as large as a pool and there are bathrooms, changing facilities, an array of beverages, fresh food, and often, live music. This really is a special atmosphere and experience. Remember, though, the water is hot!

Virginia City Players

Check the website for show times. This is a fun way to spend an evening. The Rustle Your Bustle Vaudeville Show, offered Tuesdays - Thursdays, lasts about 1 hour. The melodrama + vaudeville show offered Fridays - Sundays generally run about 2 hours. 1 hour melodrama, 15 min intermission, 45 min vaudeville.

Madison River Fishing Company

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced angler, the guides will cater the trip to your needs. Choose between a half day and a full day and they'll bring lunch (full days). You can also purchase gear, clothes, sunglasses, anything you need for a day of floating and fishing.
